Home Healthcare Essentials: The Short List Every UAE Family Should Keep
You don't need a pharmacy at home. You do need a short, curated set of items so a fever, a scrape, or a mild breathing episode doesn't turn into a midnight taxi ride. Here is what we recommend after five years of restocking clinic and family orders.
Every family we onboard as a repeat customer eventually asks the same question: 'What should I actually keep at home?' Here is the honest answer, based on what people actually reach for at 2 am — not what looks impressive on a shelf.
Non-negotiables (buy today). Digital forehead thermometer, pulse oximeter, adhesive plasters in assorted sizes, sterile gauze swabs, saline nasal spray, adult and children's paracetamol, oral rehydration sachets, a small hand-sanitizer, and disposable gloves.
Add if there's an asthmatic in the family. A quiet home nebulizer with a spare mask kit. Cool-mist humidifier for the bedroom during Dubai summer AC nights. Peak-flow meter if a doctor recommends it.
Add if there's a senior in the family. Automatic blood pressure monitor, spare glucose test strips if there's a diabetic, and a knee or wrist support for existing joint issues. A walking cane you can adjust in seconds is worth keeping in the boot of the car.
What NOT to keep at home. Prescription antibiotics 'just in case' — this creates resistance and doesn't help. Old injection needles — dispose of them properly. Expired medicines — they degrade silently.
Where to keep it. Not the bathroom (humidity kills strips and pills). Not the kitchen (heat). A cool cupboard in a bedroom or hallway is the right spot.
If you'd like us to build a right-sized family kit and ship it to your Dubai address, message us on WhatsApp with the number of adults, children, and any special conditions. We'll assemble it the same day.
